Who are we?
The Jamaica Institute of Environmental Professionals (JIEP), formed in 2000, is a professional association of qualified persons who work in the environmental field. Members include scientists, engineers, consultants, social scientists, lawyers, educators and economists. Currently the JIEP has one hundred and sixty-three (163) active members. A twelve-member Council made up of the Executive and eight other Council members governs the JIEP. The Executive consists of the President, Vice-president, Secretary and Treasurer. The current council members for 2012-2014 are: President – Krishna Desai, Vice President – Karen McDonald Gayle, Secretary – Tamia Harker, Treasurer – Sean Townsend, Immediate Past President – Marcia Creary, Kimberly Bryan, Eleanor Jones, Ava Maxam, Michelle McNaught, Susan Otuokan, Philip Rose, Danae Vaccianna and Central & Western Regional Focal Point Coordinators - Andrene Jones and Thessa Smith respectively.
